What is NetGalley?

NetGalley is one of the largest digital ARC distribution sites in the industry. A huge advantage of listing your title on NetGalley’s platform is access to people you might not otherwise reach, from reviewers for major publications like USA Today and Publishers Weekly to librarians and booksellers looking for new titles to purchase.

NetGalley Co-Op Stats and Information / Based on Our Past NetGalley Co-Op

NetGalley is something we have found is more of a long term answer to gaining reviews and insights. It's great for novels that are coming out in a month or two, but we have also had success with authors and novels that have been out for over a year.
Here are our findings thus far. Your title will run during the month of your chose. That is considered month 1. Reviews will continue to come in over the next several months. These are running totals.

During Month 1 - Average about 5-8 feedback/reviews.
During Month 2 - Average about - 6-12 feedback/reviews.
During Month 3 - Average about 13-15 feedback/reviews.

A little more info on what you get with a NetGalley Slot:
You receive Cover Votes so you know how much readers like your Cover.
Titles listed have averaged 30-50 Requests to Review their Novel during the Month they are live.
This is a great way to get your novel in front of Librarians, Booksellers, and Reviewers in general. The Average Number of Impressions for the Month they are live is 200-400!

Please note that if you do use our Co-Op, we handle the title on NetGalley 100% and will forward any feedback to you that your novel receives as well as the email address of the reviewer.

Q: Who will read my novel?
A: Members of NetGalley will request your title and we will accept/reject based on their history of reviewing titles.

Q: Will I gain Amazon/Goodreads Reviews?
A: It is very important to note that Netgalley does not make reivewing mandatory. We will try to target and accept people who have a good standing and history of reviewing, but where they post that review can not be garunteed.
Reviewers know that publishers and authors value reviews on multiple platforms and that building an audience means posting on multiple bookish platforms and the hope is that they will follow through.

Q: Will I receive negative reviews?
A: Reviews are 100% Subjective and featuring your title on Netgalley in no way means you will only get positive reviews. One of the main thing we see criticized via NetGalley is editing issues. It is very important that you make sure you are putting forth the best possible copy of your novel.

Q: Are there any stipulations? What Info is needed?
A: Most of the info you need is standard: Title, Series Name, Author Name, Publisher, Publication Date, Retail Price, Edition Type, etc. The big thing you need: You MUST have a unique, 13-digit number (if you have an ISBN, that’s perfect). ISBNs can be acquired via Smashwords, CreateSpace, or Bowker.
